About me

Ukrainian born pianist Julia Dykan began her musical career at the age of 6 years while at national school. In 1990 Julia auditioned and was accepted into the local College of Music and graduated with honors. While studying here and being trained as a bright enthusiastic upcoming pianist Julia entered into and was successful in many piano competions and performed at many piano concerts.

In 1994 she continued her musical education at the Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University from where she graduated with an honors Bachelor of Music degree in Piano performance and Pedagogy (teaching). In 1995 she entered into the Ukrainian National Piano competition and took 2nd prize.

From 1996 to 2012 Julia worked at the Sumy Theatre of Comedy and Drama where she was the principal pianist in the orchestra. Julia was also the director of music for her local national school. Julia is committed and driven in her aspirations regarding the integrity of performance and inspires all her students at Play Piano with her can do attitude!

In 2018 Yuliya graduated from the London College of music examinations in Piano Performance (ALCM – Performance, Recital) with highest marks.
