Tuition at Play Piano is disseminated through a blend of face to face lessons at our school and complimented with either private / group music lessons delivered online through the use of live video calling
Regarding online lessons these are brought to you from Play Piano at a scheduled time where you may learn and enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Parental / guardian consent will be sought if you are under 18 yrs of age
How it works
1. All you need your end is a computer / laptop or tablet device with a webcam so you can receive a video call from your teacher. The ideal screen size we would suggest would be at least 10 inches. It is not recommended to use a mobile phone of any kind as the screen can be small and may not lend itself well to taking up a music lesson in this form.
2. You will have to download an app to accept the video call from your teacher. At present our teachers use platforms such as Skype and Zoom and if you posess a Mac we have the option of face time as well.
3. Make sure you are setup and ready to go at the appropriate time and that you have the camera and screen set up so the teacher can see and hear you clearly with good lighting. We would also recommed the use of a quiet room / area of your home for the duration of the lesson.
4. If you are under 18yrs of age you may have an accompanying parent in the room with you. Unless your parent has a specific need to be beside you during your lesson we would ask that once your lesson begins your parent moves out of view until the lesson has been completed.
