Jonathan Hunter was born in 1966 in Hexham, England. He has a Diploma in Performance on piano from the London College of Music, a B.A.(Hons) in Fine Art Drawing and Painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from The University of Central England Birmingham, and an M.A. in Fine Art from National College of Art and Design Dublin.He has taught Art and Music in secondary schools in Birmingham and Hereford, and has taught piano in Dublin at The Abbey School of Music since 1999.
He continues to work as a piano teacher and accompanist and he shows his paintings at Hillsboro Fine Art Dublin, SO Fine Art Editions Dublin, and Catherine Hammond Gallery West Cork.In 2008 he was awarded the invitation residence at The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A.
