Helmut Werner

Helmut Werner, born Ulm Germany came to Ireland in 1995 to further his studies in classical music. He enrolled at NUI Maynooth where he received his B.A. Music and Masters degree, specialising in Lute music of the Elizabethan Age.

Helmut studied classical guitar in Germany with professor Mario Sicca. He commenced teaching at Play Piano in 2011 where he teaches classical guitar from beginner to diploma level. He also teaches music theory and harmony for all grades and boards, Junior and Leaving Cert music and third level entrance examinations.

He has taught music in Dun Laoghaire School of Music, St. Gerards Secondary School Bray, and most recently was commissioned to teach for shakira’s foundation Pies Descalzos in Colombia.
